I have just today gotten an email that I need to register again and create a new Quicken ID and password due to the sale, the Intuit ID and pass will go obsolete soon. I did not call as I had fixed the problem as of now. Quicken help even emailed me to call them when I complained on their Facebook page. My email is on another older computer, and not on at the time. I eventually had to email for my information, and that caused issues as well.

When this auto update ran, and locked me, it took me hours to figure out how to fix it. Many of the posters in this thread use older versions, even older than my 2015. Even copy and pasting has been made harder at many online websites, since they make the transactions links to more data (PAYPAL for example).

I only use manual entries of my transactions (many using copy and paste from my online account access to the financial entities I'm working on at any time. I did not need to since I stopped using auto updates and downloading of transactions from my accounts. After the update, I restarted it, and was stuck with the LOGIN popup. I have had many issues lately after my Quicken 2015 Home and Business Edition went on its own and updated itself after I closed the starting popup about a new version (2017) being available, and 40% off offer. I am not qulaified to accurately discern which.I'm very disturbed by all this. Obviously much like most GAOTD visitors I do not use any Quicken accounting software solutions so cannot evaluate the functionality of this but the system requirements published here OR those published on their product download page are incorrect either due to incompetence or marketin apearance of the innovativeness of the product. That sort of behaviour should have vanished with the advent of Windows Vista! it suggests the developer has placed files and settings that need to be writable into protected locations rather than limited user writable locations. It's incorrect programming practice to create a file converter tool that requires the end user to have administrator priviliges just to run the program.

I agree that most financial institutions provide comma separated value data and/or QIF files, and yes, PDF versions of statements. However, some CHARGE a fee to use quicken downloads, yes, amazing isn't it? I might add that in the last few versions of Quicken, the automatic download process has been very problematic, only working about 50% of the time without some kind of glitch. Since Quicken has gotten very buggy in recent versions, and a 2 year subscription may not be your cup of tea, nor do you want your data on the cloud (some other computer some where you cannot ensure its security or control access to it), your only option is a program like this or manual entry. Kalmly, If you use a version of Quicken 2016 or earlier, you can no longer download directly into Quicken without a new subscription to Quicken, and you can't even download a QIF file and then open it it with an older version of Quicken, the process causes the program to call home on the Internet during the process and if your subscription is not renewed, no go.
